Our Story
Welters was first established in 1936 by Leo and Dominic Welter in St. Michael, MN. By the mid-1960s, Dominic and Carl Welter decided to open another location in Buffalo. They were joined in that venture by Paul Trueman, establishing Trueman-Welters. Today, the business is run by Carl’s sons, Mark and Paul Welter. In the past, the store mainly sold International Harvest, and in the 1990s they added Ford®, New Holland®, Ski-Doo® snowmobiles, and Can-Am® four-wheelers. Since then, they have also added Seo-Doo® personal watercraft.
Trueman-Welters has been one of the top Cub Cadet® dealers in the United States for the past 15 years and was named the 2006 Retailer of the Year. Although the lawn and garden and powersports segments have grown by leaps and bounds, the ag and construction equipment part of our business also continues to grow. New technology, such as Advanced Farming Systems and Precision Land Management available through Case IH® and New Holland, is making farms in the St. Cloud area more efficient and profitable.
